BIOGRAPHY

1980 Arrives in the U.S.
1980-1981 Studies English at New York University.
1982- Starts working as a make up artist. Makes her debut on American "Vogue". Since then, works on cover, fashion and beauty pages of glossies worldwide including the British, Italian, French, and German versions of "Vogue" as well as "Harper's Bazaar". In addition, engages in a wide array of projects such as providing personal make up services to actresses and models and doing make up for shows, advertisements and music videos.
1994 Begins writing "Rumiko's Makeup Lesson" for "SPUR" magazine.
1996 Publishes "Rumiko's Makeup Lesson" (additional volume of "SPUR") from Shueisha, Inc.
1997 Launches "RMK", her original brand cosmetics.
Publishes "RUMIKO'S MAKEUP BOOK" from Fuso Publishing, Inc.
2002 Publishes her biography titled "DREAM" from Magazine House Co., Ltd.
2003 Publishes "RUMIKO'S PERFECT BEAUTY BOOK" from Kodansha Ltd.
Even now, RUMIKO is actively involved in various fields of work as RMK's creative director and as a makeup artist.
